Ah, it’s goodbye 2011. I won’t forget year 2011. So many eventful things happened… Was admitted to my university of choice. Graduated high school. Bade goodbye to my friends. Entered university. Made new friends… So it’s not only in the anime and manga category, but on other stuffs as well. But I won’t talk about those things, so let’s just have a short review of my otaku-ism during the year ^_^
First off, is the list of anime I watched and finished watching. Not much, but most if the titles on the list became my favorites in no time:
Favorited Gakuen Alice and Fruits Basket on this part. But I liked all the anime watched. Except for Pretty Cure, which isn’t in the list. Oh well, that incident is history 
Next is, the list of the unfinished anime. Only two in this part. I never intended to not finish Yumeiro Pattissiere and Romeo x Juliet, both have really nice stories, but with DVDs that lack some episodes, I’ve decided to put watching these two on hold. But definitely, I’ll finish these two titles for 2012!
Third would be the list of the manga and other merchandise I acquired during the year 2011, but I forgot to take a snap of the collection, so I’ll just put that particular part during my 3rd WordPress anniversary — that will be on April ^_^
You might say I should do the photo-capturing now, but I’m in a hurry because the 10-second countdown will begin in thirty minutes (so forgive this crappy post o_O Happy New Year by the way! ^_^). I’ll do this really quick:
Classes will start on the third of January and we all know what it means. After a jolly happy Christmas break, students will be bombarded with school works and projects once classes start (hate how they give too many work >.<) Because of that, the months of January and February are months when I’m really really inactive online, meaning less blogging (same goes with my previous years of blogging, if you’ll see the Archives page. I wasn’t even able to post anything during January 2010) So you get what I mean.
BUT! I’ll try to post something if I have free time (IF I have any free time). Might post some manga review… well, because reading manga is what I always do when I’m not in the mood to do anything

Princely characters and trianglers

It was just some while ago today when I finished watching the anime adaptation of Fruits Basket. I want to say more about how I liked the Furuba anime adapation (except for the last few episodes in which they changed and added lots of scenes) because of its 90% faithfulness with Natsuki Takaya’s manga, but I’ll save that particular babbling for another post.
Well anyway, like what I always do after finishing an anime series, I assessed Furuba by comparing it to other anime titles (that is somehow similar to it). Let me just get this clear though, I’m talking about Furuba anime here because that’s what I just finished. The manga will forever be the best, and I will be forever faithful with that. So anyway again, with Furuba, realization dawned upon me:
OMG DO I LIKE PRINCELY CHARACTERS??
So okay, not really realization because it’s still a question that needs an answer but we will be answering that later. LATER.
I know you might be asking why I’m so fussed about such a simple thing for liking princely characters but really… I don’t actually know if that’s bad or good… But I’m so squeeing when I think about SUCH characters. They ARE cute, aren’t they? Prince-like, as they are called. *SQUEEEEEEEEEEE*
What the hell am I talking about princes anyway and how is that connected to Furuba? Well then, here’s an answer: YUKI SOHMA.
Ah, the prince.
KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!~ ♥
Yuki Sohma is just so cute right? Ha, I know he looks like a girl but I really really (2x) like him! (But I’m not out of my mind that I would join the Yuki Sohma Fan Club ) I so like boys who look like girls, like Ruka Nogi of Gakuen Alice and Tadase Hotori of Shugo Chara. Yuki, Ruka, Tadase… *and so goes for another kyaa~ ♥ *
And thus, the answer. I DO like princely characters. Rough translation would be, “I like boy characters who look like girls.” Hehe But I can’t help it, that’s my preference. Each of us has different preferences, right? So that means I’m not insane for liking such characters 
(So maybe Ruka isn’t much like Yuki and Tadase in ‘prince-ness’, first off because he is best friends with Natsume and he was acting like some snob at the beginning of the story, but I’m still considering him because he ‘looks like a girl’.)
With what I just said on how I like Yuki, Ruka, and Tadase, you might probably be thinking that I ship Yuki-Tohru, Ruka-Mikan, and Tadase-Amu. My answer? NO, I don’t. That’s where the ‘triangler’ part goes.
You see, though I like those ‘princes’, I don’t ship them with the main heroine. I don’t know why but it’s just that I like them more than the actual boy whom I ship with the heroine. So it means “I like them but I don’t like pairing them with the heroine, obviously because the other guy is better FOR the heroine.”
(I hope my explanation isn’t confusing o_O)
It doesn’t mean that I don’t like Kyo, Natsume, and Ikuto, though. I actually really like them, I mean, why would I pair them with the main heroine if I hate them? Again, it’s just that I like the prince-y character more.
So with the triangler Kyo-Tohru-Yuki (that was at the middle part of the manga because we all know that it’s Machi-Yuki – yes, I ship that — in the end), I go for Kyo-Tohru but I love Yuki more than Kyo (that doesn’t mean I don’t love Kyo!!). In Natsume-Mikan-Ruka, I ABSOLUTELY ship Natsume-Mikan but Ruka is the best guy for me. And, yes, that’s right, I pair Ikuto-Amu in Ikuto-Amu-Tadase (I was too stupid before to actually root for Tadamu. UNBELIEVABLE.), though I’ll always be a Tadase fan
(Agghh… I’m just tangling the explanation even more o_O)
So I think that settles it? Confusing post, I know . But I hope I was able to clearly state that I love the princely characters in Fruits Basket, Gakuen Alice (I see Ruka as prince ), and Shugo Chara, while shipping the main heroine with the ‘better’ (not for me, but for the heroine) guy ^_^

A new love for Gakuen Alice’s Ruka Nogi

As promised, here is the Ruka Nogi post ^_^
[WARNING!! Contains spoilers! Reference up to CHAPTER 157]
We all know that in the Time-travel arc, Ruka finally gave up his love for Mikan, after seeing how his best friend Natsume and Mikan are destined for each other. It was a really heart-breaking scene – seeing Ruka crying… I myself actually cried with that part of the story.
Yes, I ship Natsume-Mikan, but I feel sorry for Ruka. We all know since the beginning that he isn’t ‘the one’ for Mikan. But despite that, I really like him; I actually like him better than Natsume. So now, for my favorite Ruka Nogi, we are going to list the girls that can be Ruka’s next love. I can think of three, but if you have more suggestions (you ship someone for Ruka other than these three), just leave a comment ^_^
[Listed in NO particular order]
## Aoi Hyuuga
Ruka has known Aoi, Natsume’s really cute imouto, earlier than the other two girls, so she’s one step ahead of them with that. Considering Aoi as a childhood friend is already a point, and add the fact that she is ‘my best friend’s little sister’ makes another plus.
I don’t know if you agree with me that Aoi is a possible girl for Ruka, but I do find her as a likely partner for the animal pheromone alice boy. And I think Natsume will support them… if ever, that is.
But no, she’s not the one I like for Ruka.
## Sumire Shouda
Sumire a.k.a. ‘Permy’ is the president of the Natsume Ruka fan club, and she’s been a fan of the two ever since. Now that Natsume is ‘engaged’ with Mikan, Ruka is her only hope for ‘love’.
I actually like Sumire and her persistence in chasing Natsume and Ruka. And considering the thing between Natsume and Mikan, I’m half-believing that as the president of the Natsume Ruka fan club, she can be Ruka’s next love. The other half would be my shipping for Sumire and Koko.
Ok, I made a major mistake with that. It isn’t half… I guess it’s actually 10-90: 10 for Sumire-Ruka and 90 for Sumire-Koko. I’m more of a Sumire-Koko shipper ^_^
## Hotaru Imai
And the last but definitely not the least in my list, Hotaru Imai, Ruka’s previous love’s best friend. She’s been Ruka’s blackmailer since that ‘Piyo’ incidence in volume 1, taking cute and ‘embarrassing’ photos of Ruka to sell. Well, who knows if Hotaru actually takes those photos so she can keep them herself? Hotaru is actually showing some signs of like towards Ruka (you remember during the New Year’s, when she ate Ruka’s own made, uh, whatever you call that new year’s food?)… Ah, she’s the most possible new love for Ruka… in MY opinion. What’s only needed is for Ruka to realize how petty Hotaru is, and how he likes her…
Just imagine, Hotaru is Mikan’s best friend, while Ruka is Natsume’s best friend… It’s a best friend parade! ^_^
I don’t know how to explain more, so I’ll stick with:
I ship Hotaru and Ruka, and I’ve read many fanfictions with their tandem. I hope the story of the manga ends with them together…

I’m using my multiply to list of my manga collection. It’s growing month by month and I might lose track so I’ve decided to make a list. You should check out the site
I’ve actually had this multiply site since ancient times but I just don’t know how to operate the page so I abandoned it. But then just a week ago, I had this ‘brilliant’ idea to use it as a manga-collection-update site. So I did my best to make the site as pretty as possible… and I was able to make it so ^_^. I actually had fun ^_^ And I really like the blue Cardcaptor Sakura theme (made by a fellow multiply-person) — just like this blog: Heroine of Shoujo! ^_^ (but note that it was I myself who designed this blog … except for the theme…)
Well I think that’s the reason why I named the multiply site as ‘Heroine of Shoujo – Multiply Chapter’. It’s going to be an extension of this lovely wordpress blog ^_^
But of course, I’ll update it only if I have the time, and if I have something as an update… that means IF I have a new manga on hand that is not yet posted in Heroine of Shoujo Multiply Chapter.

2011 Christmas Wish List ^_^

My co-bloggers, both anime and non-anime, have been posting their wish list for the coming Christmas. Even some of them have posted as early as September! And I kind of feel behind, so to keep up with everyone, I’m posting my own Christmas wish list ^_^
Almost every item listed here are manga… Yep, I’ve decided that I won’t be getting any more items that aren’t manga (or artbook). Plushies, magazines, stickers, mouse pads — I’m keeping my funds away from buying those. But of course, I won’t be picky with any present friends and family will give ^_^. So it’s still up to you whatever Christmas gift you want to give
I’m actually planning to get these manga myself next year… but if you’re too kind to give me some (or if you want, ALL ) of the items in the list as presents, I’ll be really very happy to accept
And, here goes my 2011 Christmas wish list (topmost = top priority) :
- Gakuen Alice volumes 2-8, 10-16
– I want these so badly that they will be the first items I’ll buy next year! With Tokyopop now closed, I don’t know if I’ll still be able to have all the released volumes… But I’ll do my best! - Fruits Basket volumes 2-3, 5-8, 10-11, 13-14, 16-23
– Same as how I how I want Gakuen Alice, but the Furuba manga is already finished so there are fewer worries in getting the volumes. - Gakuen Alice Illustration Fan Book, Gakuen Alice 7.5 Official Fan Book, and Gakuen Alice 25.5 Official Fan Book
– I’m having a hard time getting these three because they should be ordered or bought from Japan. And YesAsia currently doesn’t have Alice 7.5!!!! Arghh!! NOOOO! Once I get all 16 volumes of Gakuen Alice Tokyopop-published manga, I’ll get these three! I won’t stop! - Cardcaptor Sakura Omnibus 2
– I’m having a hard time getting this item… but no worries, Dark Horse, unlike Tokyopop, is still publishing more copies. - Cardcaptor Sakura Illustrations Collection 3

It’s been a month since my last post! I’m really really sorry for not updating… but no worries now. Christmas break has just started and I’ve got lots of post ideas in mind ^_^ I’ll be posting them one at time, so now I’ll just have this update post about what I’m up to this holiday season
200,000+ hits!!
To start off, I want to tell everyone that during the month without my updating, we got 200,000+ hits!!! I’m really happy! Since the blog hits last November 2010 was 100,000, that means we had a hundred thousand hits for a year ^_^ It’s the perfect Christmas gift from all of you ^_^ Thank you everyone for coming and seeing my blog!! ♥
Getting ready for Christmas 2011
Christmas is a time for gift-giving… and that means… money burn. Yep, I wasn’t able to purchase much manga. But anyway, it’s really nice to give gifts, right? ^_^ And they say it’s better to give than to receive Though really, I had a hard time thinking of gift ideas….
And have you noticed? It’s already snowing here at Heroine of Shoujo! ^_^ Well, it doesn’t really snow here at my country… and I hope it does… Anyway, the falling of snow is really pretty ^_^
The new Irashai and the snow are the only Christmas decorations my blog has. They aren’t really much, but at least they liven up the Christmas spirit here ^_^
And by the way, I’ll be posting my Christmas wish list any time this week so check that out, in case you’re thinking of something you want to give for me this Christmas (he he )
FURUBA!!
And last but definitely not the least…
I’m so into Fruits Basket these days!! I bought some (SOME – that’s really very few so it’s not contradicting with what I said earlier about money burning ) Fruits Basket manga (ON SALE!!) during the month of no blog updating. I absolutely love the story!!
Tohru is really cute! I really love ‘Pollyanna’ shoujo anime girls like her ^_^ And I really love the Tohru-Kyo ship ^_^
So far, I’ve read only five volumes (the volumes of Furuba manga I have): Volumes 1, 4, 9, 12, and 15. I should have had volume 8 by now if only I bought it earlier >.< . When I came back to the store after I bought volumes 1 and 9, volume 8 was already bought by someone!! Sigh….
I also haven’t watched the anime (although I know that the manga is much better because of reviews by fellow shoujo bloggers). I might try watching it this vacation. (I watched the opening of the anime and I immediately fell in love with the opening song ‘For Fruits Basket’ ^_^)
I’ll post my review on volume 1 of Furuba anytime soon ^_^
