Christmas is just around the corner! And I bet shoujo manga collectors out there are looking for new manga to add to their shelves this month. Or perhaps manga to give to friends as gifts? Whatever the case, Viz has a lot of shoujo and josei manga to offer the readers this December. (It looks like Kodansha Comics’ shoujo manga line is taking a break this month).
Demon Love Spell, Volume 5
Story and Art by Mayu Shinjo | Viz Media | Release Date: 12/03/2013
Shrine maiden Miko has sealed the powers of the sexy incubus Kagura, who has vowed to protect her. Kagura and Miko ask her father for permission to move out of the shrine and live together on their own. Surprisingly Miko’s father readily agrees, but just what has this powerful priest done to Kagura?
The Hakuouki figures I ordered a couple of months ago arrived in the middle of November! I was expecting the set to arrive by February next year since the re-release of the this Kotobukiya One Coin Grande is scheduled at the end of December, but it looks like Greattoysonline.com got me an old release set. I actually wanted the newest release but since there isn’t really any difference (except that this year end’s release is, well, new — factory-wise), I decided to take what was there.
This post is a photo spam! But if you’re interested to know how I opened the box, please continue reading ^_^

I usually visit Heart of Manga for monthly shoujo manga release updates, but Laura hasn’t been updating her blog since July and I’m already missing her reviews and release update posts ◕︵◕. So for the meantime, I’ll be doing my own listing of monthly shoujo manga releases until Heart of Manga is updated again (`･ω･´)
Here are the new shoujo manga releases for the month of November:
Alice in the Country of Clover: Cheshire Cat Waltz, volume 7
story by QuinRose, art by Mamenosuke Fujimaru | Seven Seas | Release Date: 11/2013
His name is Boris, and despite his human form and piercings and tattoos, he is not your typical punk teenager. For he is the Cheshire Cat, complete with cat ears and a tail, and a penchant for riddles. Boris is in madly love with Alice, and Alice is vulnerable and lonely. But will she fall for the Cheshire Cat?

Screw self-control. I knew I have to read the succeeding chapters of Kimi ni Todoke right after I have read volume 17 XD (Because Viz won’t be releasing the 18th volume until next year and I can’t wait that long!!)
I just want to highlight on chapter 84, the latest chapter currently available online. Scanlations aren’t available at the moment, but you can read raws here. (Good thing this manga has furigana! I wish otome games have furigana too (^_^;)).
Anyway, I was babbling about Kento and Ayane in my last post. Because Kento is just so cute and caring! But this chapter made me realize I was actually an AyaneXPin shipper (and KentoXKurumi) before Kento showed interest in Ayane. No, I was shipping Ayane and Pin even before Kento appeared in the series!

“Even though Sawako is dating Kazehaya, lately he’s been distant. When the class Christmas party inspires the bristly Chizu and even insecure Yano into taking the next step in their relationships, Sawako takes drastic action to finally reach Kazehaya.” Release Date: 08/06/2013. From viz.com
I know I bought my copy last August (because I asked my favorite comic store to reserve me a copy), but I kind of misplaced it so I only got to read and finish it a while ago (^_^;). Anyway, we are finally on the 17th volume. And this is one whole volume focusing on the Christmas party — and the relationships that deepened during the celebration.
Although this deepening of relationships between Kazehaya and Sawako, Chizu and Ryuu, and Ayane and Kento is agreeably the center of this volume, I have to say we have Joe to thank for the progress in both Chizu’s and Ayane’s love lives.

Bishies!! I would have loved these guys but sadly, I saw the first episode of the anime and now I cringe whenever I see them.
So after I watched the best anime of 2013, Shingeki no Kyojin, I decided to try Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, another series that seems to have gotten the attention of my friends… who are mostly fujoshi or just read yaoi. Prior to my watching of the first episode I was already warned of the many fan service in the series… but meh, the boys are cute so I just have to watch this!
But boy was I so wrong. I should have listened to the one review I saw and shouldn’t have watched this.

1. I’m not really fond of watching non-shoujo/reverse harem anime, bot lots of people, even my friends who don’t really watch anime, say Shingeki no Kyojin is really good, the best anime of 2013 even, so why don’t give it a try?
