Manga Drawer

OMG, I didn’t notice that it’s been more than week since my last post… I was so engrossed in reading Harry Potter that I forgot about updating my blog.

Honestly, I want to post and post in this blog more frequently this vacation because I have a feeling that I won’t be able to do so again once school starts on June… I bet I’ll be busier than ever (but I hope not ^_^)

Anyway, just an otaku update… remember those new manga I acquired weeks ago? My 22-manga collection is now 27, so I definitely need more space for the additional five manga. Here’s what I did so I could stock the new five manga in the same drawer (a photo I uploaded on my facebook wall last week):

Arranged my anime drawer yesterday. Now it’s no longer called ‘anime drawer’ but ‘manga drawer’ instead.
Had to put the anime dvds, anime magazines (otakuzine), and other anime merchandise in another drawer (which contained my english books collection before) because new manga additions have been coming recently (there’ll be no more space if I’ll still stick with the ‘anime’ drawer)

I think that does it. Will be posting again next week for otaku updates ^_^

Sale!

What happens when National Bookstore conducts a sale?

You won’t be able to resist buying! Especially when manga that costs 395Php is on sale — 20% percent off. You can save up to 79Php for each manga you buy.

The very thing happened when I visited NBS at Robinsons Ermita last Monday, April 18. Who’d have thought that they’ll have a summer sale?? Way!

I was guessing that the bookstore crew does not want people from buying Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle manga since I had a hard time looking for the volumes. In the end, I was able to find them at the lower shelf, and honestly, the books are well-hidden. That shelf doesn’t even have any ’20% off’ notice, and just to be sure that Tsubasa manga are also on sale, I asked a cashier to scan the tag of the volumes I intend to buy.

(I’m really sorry for the quality of the photo. I used only my CP cam -again- since I can’t get hold of the digital camera I usually use)

Bought each volume for 316Php only. Sigh, if only I knew that NBS will conduct a sale, I shouldn’t have bought volumes 6 and 10 in Cebu last April 13, only 2 days before NBS’ Super Summer Book Sale.

Oh, I remember buying TRC volumes 12, 13, and 14 on sale too at NBS last August 2010. Also 20% off.

Photo taken last August 2010. Now this is what you call a PHOTO. ^_^

And by the way, I think some items in PowerBooks are also on sale. I saw some sale tags in their store, even manga are on sale, but most of them are Chuang-Yi published, yes, even Tsubasa (I’ve started collecting TRC with DelRay, so I have no business with Chuang-Yi ^_^)

Another thing, I was really surprised with NBS’ 50% off on manga. OMG, I bought those titles for 160Php on booksale, and now NBS is selling the same titles for only 35Php!! (The books are on sale, original prize is 70Php then take off 50%). Examples are RG Veda Volumes 2 and 3 which I bought on Booksale, just a year ago I think. Bought each for 160Php, but now, it costs only 35Php. Who would not buy even just one? I grabbed RG Veda Volume 9 immediately.

Suikoden III manga also costs only 35Php there. And I bought them for 160 each  in Booksale!!

Just to sum up, currently, I have 14 volumes of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, volumes 6-19 – halfway there! As for RG Veda, I have only 3 volumes, volume 2, 3, and 9. I found volumes 6 and 10 in booksale, but I guess I’ll just look for them in NBS because it’s way cheaper there ^_^.

Now I need to save up again.
