I came upon simpleek’s post wherein she answered 11 random questions from a tagger. I thought it was fun so volunteered myself to be tagged

1. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want to have with you and why?
I’d say a lots of match sticks (that will still light), knife, and mat. Survival first! I watched in movies and some survival reality show that these items are the most practical things to have when you’re stranded in a deserted island. The match sticks and knife need not to be explained, but the mat… well, I don’t want to sleep on the ground so a mat will be very functional.
2. If this were your last day on Earth, how would you spend it?
Waa I don’t like questions like this but I have no choice but to answer so… If this will be my last day on earth *knock on wood*, I’ll definitely spend it with my family, more importantly my father, my mother, and brother.
3. Did you have a favorite childhood toy? If yes, what was it?
Yes! It’s a Winnie the Pooh stuffed toy that I still have until now. As far as I remember (this means “thanks to photo albums with photos that has captions!” ^_^) my parents bought it for me when I was about two or three years old. I have lots of photos that has me holding Pooh Bear ^_^
4. What are your favorite television shows you are watching right now?
I honestly don’t watch the television -_-. Though there are times when I sit in our living room and my father and mother are watching the television and I’ll help myself to watching the show as well (for about 30 minutes). Or when I’m at the bus and the television features a local channel. But those rarely happen, like only about 3-4 times a month.
5. If you could travel anywhere in the world and money is not the problem, where would you go and why?
My first destination will be none other Japan! I’ll get all anime and manga stuff I want! Then I’ll visit their Disneyland, and all the other Disneylands in the world. And the Harry Potter theme park! Oh gosh, I’m all into theme parks But I’d definitely go to many other different places, especially historical sites and museums around the world.
6. If you won the lottery tomorrow, how would you spend the money?
First thing I’ll buy is a big condominium unit near my university. So I wouldn’t have to pay monthly rent for dormitory. The rest will be up to my mother. HAHA
7. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When people pronounce my name as “A-lay-sa” and not the way I like it which is “A-lee-sah.” It annoys me so don’t ever make that mistake. LoL
8. Is there someone you idolize. If yes, who is it and why?
My mom will always be the person that I idolize ^_^. Hmmm hard to explain…
9. Do you believe in the idea of a soulmate? Explain your reasons briefly.
No. This is one tough answer to explain, but generally, it’s just difficult to believe that one is DESTINED to be with another because everything is a result of our and others’ choices. (okay I wasn’t able to explain it in a good way but I’ll leave it like that)
10. What’s your happiest memory?
I want to say that all my memories are those of happy events because I don’t want to think the opposite of it. But if I’ll choose one… I won’t be able to pick any. HAHA
11. What’s your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Sleep! Because when I don’t have free time, it means that I have no time to sleep .

Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion

This is a post I wrote two weeks ago but I left it as draft until now…

I should be doing some scholarly works but something is bothering my mind and it just won’t go away.
What is it, you say?
Just a PSP game.
Tekken 6.
Oh great, I’m restraining myself, I’m trying not to think about it but I really really REALLY REALLY WANT TO PLAY IT NOW. As in NOW.
Now, it isn’t my fault that my brother’s PSP is just lying around our living room sofa, saying, “Take me and play with me. I have some nice new games.” But it IS MY fault that I checked out his new games and then I saw Tekken 6 and I was like, “OOOOEEEEMMMMGGGGEEEE!! Tekken 6!!”
I know Tekken 6 was out since ancient times but my brother didn’t bother to buy the game. So the me who doesn’t have her own PSP (not that I want one, though… I’m trying not to be a game freak so I didn’t get myself – and I won’t get – a gaming console) is just waiting for him to have the 6th instalment of the arcade game. It took him so many FREAKING years before he finally had Tekken 6; I would have sworn that Tekken 7 will already be out tomorrow.
So to make the long story short, I played the game. There aren’t any unlocked movie endings yet (guess my brother just bought it recently and he hasn’t had the opportunity to play it) so
I started to play the story battles so I would know what happened to the characters after Dark Resurrection (I first used, of course, my favorite character: Lili).
Anyway, I’d like to share some flashbacks. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was the first Tekken game I played. Just one generation before Tekken 6, I know, but I got really addicted with it. I don’t use too many characters, though. As a matter of fact, in DR, I just used Xiaoyu and Asuka (girl power! ^_^ ) so I could unlock their ending movies without spending any gold. The only one character that I actually use is, as I said, Lili, my favorite character.
Lili Rochefort is a really pretty girl with long honey-blonde hair and full bangs. Her default outfit is a white Victorian-style dress partnered with white boots. One look at her and you’ll probably see her as a sweet and kind. But I’m warning you, don’t judge her strength by her cover because she’s a really good street fighter who will knock you out with her graceful yet strong attacks.
Her fighting style is so elegant – it’s like she’s dancing while fighting. Plus, the names of her attacks are pretty too. There is “Piercing Thorn Fortissimo”, no doubt a powerful attack because just three perfect Piercing Thorns will K.O. your opponent (actually, just two and a half, but you can’t do a half attack, can you?). “Broken Heart” is a strong attack too. And once the opponent is thrown lying on the ground after a Broken Heart, immediately do juggles – “Sundial” or “Backflip Spinning Edge” – just keep on juggling and the opponent won’t be able to stand up anymore. Also, don’t let the name of the attack “Kiss of Devotion” fool you because it isn’t really a kiss; it’s actually a grab that will cause the opponent great damage. Lili’s attack names are just so elegant and really perfect for her. “Edelweiss”, “Heliorope”, “Angel Knee”, “Honeysuckle” (this is my favorite!).
I also had fun customizing Lili. My favourite in DR was making her like a goth doll. She’s really pretty!! Though it was a bit frustrating that you can’t change Lili’s (or any other character’s) clothes in DR. You can only change her dress color, her hair, or add some 
accessories. But that changed in Tekken 6. Because in the 6th instalment, there are clothes you can buy and have your character wear. With the diversity of character customization Tekken 6 offers, I really go ‘squeeee!’ I can make Lili wear more clothes now! I’m currently using the school uniform costume, that same uniform Lili wears in her ending movie (the one where she met Asuka, and Lili said, “too bad it’ll be a short reunion” ^_^ ). Same clothes, same color. I’m sticking to that dress for now (because it’s just plain pretty and classy ^_^ )
As for new attacks, moves, and combos, I’m not sure if there are new for Lili in 
Bloodline Rebellion. I practiced her old attacks for only a short while before I went for the story battle, so I wasn’t able to see some new attacks. Plus I don’t know all of the names of her attacks in DR so even if I browse through her attack list, I won’t be sure if any of those things are new. Anyway, I also read something like ‘Penguin Item Attack’ but I have yet tried it.
I also like the opening of Bloodline Rebellion, mainly because there’s a part in which Lili and Asuka were shown fighting. Really, Lili, you’re just so pretty! :3 Annnd, it was also fun that Lili, Asuka, and Panda’s endings are correlated.
As for new characters, I’d say Alisa is my choice, perhaps because her fighting style incorporates some dancing, just like Lili (I use only Lili but I tried to use Alisa because I wanted to know what her story is). She’s pretty (also one factor why I tried using her), her voice is really cute, but then, she’s a robot. She can fly, she can sprout chainsaws from her arms, and she can behead herself, honestly. Oh, great, it was amusing that she has this attack wherein she takes off her head, puts it in her opponent’s hands, and detonates it to explode. Just great.
But she’s one pretty nice character who’s even a main character in the movie Tekken 6: Blood Vengenace. Though I have yet watched that movie, I’ve read its synopsis, and I have to say that with what the synopsis says, along with some promotional photos, and the trailer, the movie of Tekken 6 is going to be better than the first Tekken movie. I soooo want to watch Tekken 6: Blood Vengeance :3
Ah, I went out of topic in the previous paragraph… Anyway, I’ll just summarize what I want to say: Alisa is my favorite among the NEW characters (not including returning characters, because I’m a forever Lili Rochefort fan, despite the fact that my name is ‘Alyssa’ ), period.
All-in-all, the gameplay of Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion is good. Though I was disappointed that some features that were in DR were absent in Bloodline Rebellion, like the ‘slow-motion replay’ of the near-end of a fight round, the dojo battles, Tekken Bowl, and Command Attack. I’m just hoping that those will be back in the PSP version of Tekken 7.
So the question is, “Will there be Tekken 7?”
Harry Potter Week

First of all, I’m in K-zone Philippines July 2011 because of my Harry Potter tweet!! Well, only my tweet with my name anyway 
And because of my tweet that says, “Can’t wait for the next Harrry Potter-packed issue of @kzoneph! Harry Potter specials are the best!”, I won a Bakugan! Now the question is, when am I going to claim my prize in their office?
Next, I joined the second Harry Potter Quiz Bee of our university (July 13, 2011)! My partner and I made it only through semi-finals, but nevertheless, it was really fun and exciting, especially trying to answer the question of the enjoyable Final round! Congratulations to the winner who won six IMAX Harry Potter 7 3D tickets!
Lastly, and really, LASTLY, we watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 during it’s premier day! I never really knew that we will be able to watch it during that day, but because we went malling that day, and peeked at the cinema ticket booths, and saw that we arrived twenty-minutes earlier the next full show, we decided to buy tickets and sit in the theater. We even got good seats despite the fact that it’s Harry Potter 7.2
Sigh…… It’s the last Harry Potter movie. I want to reread the bo0ks! I want to re-watch the movies! But of course, for HP 7.2, I’ll just wait patiently for the release of the DVD
(I don’t want to spoil the movie to those who haven’t watched it yet, so I’m not going to add my review in this post. Just stay tuned for that particular post!)
PS: HP 7.2 is my favorite movie (with no ‘thus far’ because it’s already the last). Maybe it was because I read the book months ago so I’m not that disappointed with the differences between the book and movie. Of course, from the first seven movies, I learned not to expect much from motion pictures – I’m not really looking for something to ‘wow’ about HP 7.2, but I found it the best.
(And HP 7.2 is the only movie I watched in the big screen )

30 Days Harry Potter Challenge
It isn’t really thirty days for me… I did this for only an hour. And I just want to answer the questions… so here it goes:
Day 1: Favorite Book
- Order of the Phoenix (Book 5)
- it’s all about the rebellion! Dumbledore’s Army, the battle at the Ministry of Magic… just the best! (except toad Umbridge of course. Heh )
Day 2: Favorite Movie
- The Half-Blood Prince (Movie 6)
- Just so I have an answer. I don’t like the movies, they’re not so like the books. But that’s not saying I hate them… I love the actors and actresses that played the roles (Emma, Dan and Rupert!). Anyway, I find the sixth movie the best among all the others, except the fact that they didn’t include the battle at Hogwarts (not the battle in book seven!!)

- Dolores Umbridge
- Everyone hates her. Oh, I also don’t like Rita Skeeter and Cho Chang. But Umbridge is the WORST.

- Fred and George Weasley
- I really love the Weasley twins! The best! But Fred died :’(

- I didn’t like him in Sorcerer’s Stone, but I learned to trust him, like Dumbledore. No hate towards him came to me when he killed (Avada Kedavra) Dumbledore. I just had an inkling that it’s a part of a plan. (And I was right! ^_^)

- it’s the part that made me cry the hardest. Dumbledore’s and Fred’s death made me cry too.

- a lot actually… but maybe I’d like to see Harry and Cho’s tampered date in the movie. Just for a laugh (Was it in the movie? I’m not exactly sure… I already forgot the movies… The books are all stamped in my head anyway)
Day 25: Nineteen years later. Are you happy how it turned out, or do you wish something was different?
- That’s what Rowling wants. Besides, I have no complains with the ending.
Day 26: If you could be able to work one spell without a wand, what would it be?
- Accio (Summoning Charm)
- I actually want to say Avada Kedavra so I could perform it on Twilight fans that mock Harry Potter (just kidding! ). Anyway, Accio is the best Charm for lazy people, so I bet I can do a lot with it. Just imagine being able to summon an object by just saying ‘Accio –say object you want to summon–!’ Very neat. Haha . Accio Cellphone!
Day 27: Would you rather own The Invisibility Cloak, The Resurrection Stone or The Elder Wand.
- Invisibility Cloak!
- That’s what Hermoione thinks is the best and safest, so I’ll go for it.

Harry Potter Notebooks!
Just for fun ^_^ I bought two Harry Potter notebooks, to use this semester. Since they are Sterling notebooks, they’re quite expensive, so I bought only two.

Honestly, I first saw the notebooks in a tumblr blog, so I was like, “OMG, I want those!”. Anyway, you noticed that I chose a Gryffindor notebook, same with what I said that I’d be in Gryffindor House if ever I’ll be sorted by the Sorting Hat. Now, the other notebook isn’t Ravenclaw, my second choice of house. It’s because there aren’t any more Ravenclaw notebook available, so I helped myself with another design – which isn’t Slytherin nor Hufflepuff. I don’t like any of those two Houses. I guess all four houses in one notebook is something anyway. ^_^

FanGirling: The witch is back

The dark clouds I mentioned last time still haven’t left… It’s been raining once in awhile for almost a week now. And the end of summer vacation is fast approaching, only two weeks left!
Despite all those, none can change my very good mood. Because I’ve been reading Harry Potter (from where I ended last time of course, that’s halfway through book five), and I just finished with the Order of the Phoenix – the best Harry Potter book I’ve read so far ^_^
If Harry Potter is an Anime...
My Favorite Book
I have to say that Harry Potter book one: The Sorcerer’s Stone was beaten by the Order of the Phoenix in terms of my favorite. Yeah, I said that I like Sorcerer’s Stone because it’s the shortest of all the seven, but book five, which was the longest, is now the best for me (so far).
How come it became my favorite book (so far)?
The Beginning
Book four’s aftershock is still in me. It’s the book that has the lowest score among the seven, if you ask me. I mean, look at its ending. It’s the book where Voldemort, er, You-Know-Who, rose back. The end-of-term feast was filled with gloom, all mourning on Cedric’s death. Dumbledore and that freak Minister Fudge parted ways – Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic. Stupid Cornelius not believing Dumbledore. It’s just so… dispiriting. No lived happily ever next book.
Of course, the fifth book started with that mood. To be short, it started bad. Harry was attacked by dementors, causing him to do under-age magic. It isn’t his fault – that was self-defense! But that Fudge!! Harry was almost expelled. But wew, thank you, Dumledore.
It started bad. And got worse by the middle of the book.
Umbridge the Frog
Who could be worse than that toad??
She’s horrible, that Dolores Umbridge. Creating unreasonable decrees to make Harry and his friends’ stay at Hogwarts a nightmare. That evil detention. Banning Harry, Fred, and George from Quidditch. Confiscating their brooms. Disallowing any student organization unapproved by her. Screening all letters and packages that are to be delivered in Hogwarts. And more evil. I’m going to kill her!
And THAT other thing – she was the person behind the dementor attack! I take back my words; I’m not going to kill her. I’m going to have a dementor KISS her. (and it came to me that she’s a frog. Reminds you of a fairytale?)
Rowling did a great job in having the readers hate Umbridge.
The Weasley Twins
Well, as they say, life is a wheel: sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down.
I said that the mid-book was worse. The next chapters… were the BEST.
And why wouldn’t it be? Fred and George Weasley are up with their tricks again.
It started to get funny when Dumbledore was dismissed of his job as Headmaster, and Umbridge took his place. She made the students’ life miserable, now it’s her turn to have the worst.
That’s when the Weasley twins take the stage. Oh, I love those two! Causing real trouble for the new headmistress, it was the best that they’ve done. Chapters twenty-eight and twenty-nine are the best!
Harry had seen enough. Laughing, he ducked down low, ran to a door he knew was concealed behind a tapestry a little way along the corridor and slipped through it to find Fred and George hiding just behind it, listening to Umbridge’s and Filch’s yells and quacking with suppressed mirth.
“Impressive.” Harry said quietly, grinning. “Very impressive . . . You’ll put Dr Filibuster out of business, no problem. . . .”
“Cheers,” whispered George, wiping tears of laughter from his face. “Oh, I hope she tries Vanishing them next. . . . They multiply by ten every time you try. . . .”
The fireworks continued to burn and to spread all over the school that afternoon. Though they caused plenty of disruption, particularly the firecrackers, the other teachers did not seem to mind them very much.

Ha! That’s the best part!! Left me laughing hard
And not only the students are causing Umbridge’s misery, the professors are also contributing. Even Peeves the Poltergeist! I never liked him until this time!
I can’t wait to visit Number Ninety-Three, Diagon Alley – Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. I’ll have Fred and George to sign an autograph for me.
Put your wand up and fight
It was only until book five that Harry and his friends had real fighting using their wands. That particular chapter, chapter thirty-five, showed proof that their D.A. meetings weren’t waste – six teenager wizards fighting Death Eaters? That was very cool! (and brave of them) Not to mention that the Death Eaters obviously outnumber them.
There was so much tension in every paragraph of that chapter… “What will happen? WHAT WILL HAPPEN??”
The chapter next to that is also… It’s Dumbledore versus Voldemort! What more will make this book the best of the best??
Romance??
What more can you ask from Order of the Phoenix? There’s action, tragedy (Sirius died 
), comedy,… and, and …ROMANCE??
Blimey, it’s in that book where Harry and Cho Chang kissed. WTH. Now if there’s one thing I don’t like about book five, it’s Cho. Umbridge I can manage, I mean, where will the story be if she’s not there? But Cho?? Oh come on, I’ve always been a Ginny heart Harry rooter ever since Chamber of Secrets.
It was good thing that in the end of book five, Harry feels nothing for that flirt Cho anymore (right on track).
Conclusion
Of course, there will always be problems like the death of Sirius and the mass revolt of the dementors of Azkaban. But all in all, the ending of this book is way better than Goblet of Fire’s gloomy ending. Cornelius Fudge finally believed that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is back (pretty unwise of him not to take great Dumbledore’s word seriously in book four), well, he MUST believe now that he’d seen it with his own eyes. The Wizarding community is now alerted of this return. Some of the Death Eaters were caught, including Malfoy. And Harry became a Hero again.
Oh, I forgot to say that Umbridge is no longer Hogwart’s High Inquisitor. That’s the best news. Heh

Fan-WITCH-ing
So who says that my fan-girling is only for anime?
Nuh-uh. I really really really really love Harry Potter and his wizarding world. Ever since I’ve read the first book last November, I’ve been a fan-witch of the series.
Well yeah, you can include Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I’m also a fan of that series (but Harry Potter is way better. Heh ), but do NOT, oh please, DON’T ever say that I’m a Twilight fangirl. They have already earned themselves a bad reputation, thank you. On the contrary, I’m not saying ALL of them are war-freaks (hey, my best friend is a fan of Twilight, bless her , and mind you, she’s not a freak like the others, whose group has very few members), it’s just that those who love to pick fights stand out, and people have a nasty habit of naming one as all.
Now the thing about this fan-witching…
I was a Potter-hater myself just a year ago until I actually read the first book (and became addicted to it, like what a said a moment ago.)(And oh, I don’t know why I don’t like Harry Potter before. I guess I was insane during those times saying I hate him. Bless me.). Just a few days ago, Skullduggery Island in Poptropica became accessible for non-members (like me^^,!), but I only had time today to play it T_T, so now I’m gonna finish this up! (hee hee hee….)

Poptropica Mythology Island gods and goddesses

Since I’ve been getting a lot of this ‘mythology gods name poptropica’ searches in my blog, I decided to make this post.
If you’re in problem with the short quiz that Aphrodite will give you in the game, then I suggest that you enter the Museum of Olympus in Main Street first before taking her test. But since you’re here, here are the gods’ and goddesses’ statue in the museum, along with their names:
And by the way, that’s my character. Hee hee, I copied Aphrodite’s dress ^.^. (My name in Poptropica is Busy Leopard.)
Demeter and Hera
–> First, you’ll see the statue of the Goddess of Agriculture, Demeter (left) and the Queen of the Immortals, Hera (right). Got it because Demeter holds wheat while Hera….well uh, she has a crown (^.^)
Dionysus, Hermes, Aphrodite
–>Then here are Dionysus, the god of wine; Hermes, the messenger of the gods; and Aphrodite, the goddess of love. It’s pretty obvious since the statue on the left is holding a wine cup (and he looks drunk too^^,), the middle statue holds a caduceus and is wearing a winged cap (but where’s the winged sandals??), and the girl on the right keeps looking at her self in her mirror.
Artemis, Ares
–> Here we have Artemis, the goddess of Hunting, and Ares, the war god. Being the goddess of hunting, Artemis is aiming her bow and arrow, while the god of war is holding a shield.
Athene, Hephaestus
–>You can see the statue of Athena (goddess of Wisdom) and Hephaestus (blacksmith god) in the upper-left part of the museum. So Athena is wearing her helmet and Hephaestus is obviously Hephaestus if you would compare him with the other statues. (hee hee hee….)
Apollo, Hestia
–>Above the statues of Ares and Artemis are Apollo (the Jack-of-all-trades god) and Hestia. As the god of music, Apollo is holding a lyre, while the goddess of the Home, Hestia, carries an amphora.
Hades, Zeus, Poseidon
–>Last, but DEFINITELY not the least, are the statues of the Big Three (as what they are called in the ‘Percy Jackson and The Olympians’ series), Hades, who is wearing his underworld crown is the god of the underworld; Zeus, the god of the sky is holding his lightning bolt; and Poseidon, the god of the sea, holds his trident.
